OREGON FLOWER DREAMS | LITTLE FLOWER SCHOOL
This past week, as my Instagram feed was flooded with photos of lucky florists making the trip to Shreiner’s Iris Gardens to learn from the best of the best, Sarah Ryhanen and Nicollete Owen of Little Flower School, it got me thinking — I never shared the photos I took from the time I was lucky enough to attend the very first Iris Study Workshop in this gorgeous setting. Two years ago and six-months-pregnant, I still remember how excited I was to learn that the master florists I had admired from afar for many years would be teaching on the west coast. I was determined to get a seat at this coveted workshop, so I splurged on tickets, packed my bags, and made what I thought (somewhat accurately) would be my last solo trip before the baby came. I’m so glad I did. My dreams are pretty much made up of flower fields and rooms full of flower enthusiasts, and the inspiration I drew from this day filled me up and is still with me today. Take a look at the bearded iris fields in bloom, Shreiner’s gorgeous gardens, snippets of the workshop with Sarah and Nicolette and the gorgeous centerpiece that came out of Oregon’s amazing local flower bounty.
